Argos slashes price of 'stylish' double ottoman storage bed to £180 in clearance sale

I'm always trying to finding extra storage in my home but it can be tricky as often large, roomy pieces of furniture can be overwhelming. However, one way to get around this is with an ottoman bed and this one from Argos has had a huge reduction in price.
The Luca bed comes in three colours, but while the pink and taupe shades are £360 for a double at full price, the burnt orange velvet finish is reduced to clear and is down to £180, making it half the price for the same bed. The other sizes are also slashed in price: £175 for a small double and £195 for a king size. That means shoppers can now pick up a king-size ottoman bed frame for under £200, which is rare for this type of design.
It is upholstered in a soft-touch velvet and has a ribbed herringbone-style headboard, giving it a more decorative look than many practical storage beds. The headboard is included, and the frame sits on plastic feet with minimal clearance underneath, keeping the overall look low and neat.
The main draw, however, is the hidden storage. The end-lift ottoman design has a large internal compartment with a storage capacity of 680 litres. It’s designed to hold bulky items such as spare bedding, clothing or even suitcases, helping free up wardrobe or cupboard space elsewhere in the room.
The bed base uses sprung wooden slats to support and ventilate the mattress. While a mattress isn’t included, the frame is designed to comfortably support everyday use, with a maximum user weight of 220kg.
Assembly is required, and the bed arrives packed flat in two boxes, with two people recommended for putting it together. At 45kg, it’s not a lightweight frame, but that may reassure buyers looking for something sturdy.
The Luca bed has received lots of positive reviews from shoppers. One shared, "Great bed with plenty of storage space, very easy to put together, and quality, plush headboard sides and bottom, looks grand."
Another added: "If you’re looking for a double bed that looks stylish, this bed offers ample hidden storage, and has a modern velvet upholstered finish...It hits the sweet spot between design and practicality. Provided you’re comfortable with the assembly and the minimal floor clearance (you won’t be to slide things underneath)."
A third wrote: "I put together about a month ago and I'm still really happy with the bed. I was able to assemble it within a couple of hours on my own...Straightforward and all the screws are easily identifiable. It comes with the tools you need too. Sturdy bed, beautiful material."
However, a few people commented that the bed was much lower than they had realised. One customer wrote, "Nice colour and comfortable but a lot lower than I thought it was going to be, saying that, I would recommend it, it's great for storage."
